Computer Assisted Design and Drafting

The Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) program equips students with computer drafting and design skills in a wide range of disciplines.  Students learn technical skills that are applied to the various drafting fields, including architecture, engineering, and product design. Students experience manual drafting; 2D drafting in AutoCAD; as well as 3D rendering and animation techniques using AutoCAD, Inventor, and 3D Studio Max.  Students will learn the design process while developing their creativity through critical thinking and a critical eye for aesthetics.  As a means of furthering their design ideas, students will participate in a variety of hands-on modeling techniques.  Students will also develop an understanding of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and various aspects of the manufacturing process.  At the completion of the CADD program, students will be prepared for employment as well as higher education.
